Position Title: Tax Manager

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)

Your role

Digital Realty Trust, Inc., one of the largest publicly traded REITs, is excited to welcome a new member to its existing premier global tax team. The position will start with a focus on tax provision but will have boundless opportunities to engage in all tax matters of the company from REIT structure, transaction/compliance support, international and partnership tax issues. We are looking for an individual who is adaptable, agile, and hungry to learn, we are looking for you!

What you’ll do

Work closely with accounting department to understand financial statement reporting for separate legal entities, including regular review of accounting system and financial statement information to ensure integrity of the reports for all DLR tax entities
Work closely with accounting group to review TRS legal entity financials, to build TRS tax projection model to monitor & minimize tax leakage
Perform quarterly tax provisions for corporate taxable REIT and foreign subsidiaries to ensure adequate tax reserves have been established
Work with Legal department on tax filings/elections (e.g. TRS and check-the-box election, etc.)
Work with Accounting and IT department to build tools and reports to improve tax reporting/projection efficiencies
Coordinate and correspond with taxing authorities in US & foreign jurisdictions on tax notices to ensure accurate regulatory records of all DLR entities
Coordinate with outside tax advisors to gather information requested in process of tax compliance to ensure timely and accurate tax return filings and payments with all appropriate agencies
Understand, manage, and perform quarterly/annual REIT compliance tests to ensure that DLR maintains its REIT status
Work with outside tax advisor to project taxable income for the REIT on annual basis to ensure REIT distribution requirement
Calculate withholding taxes on quarterly distributions from DLR partnerships in compliance with regulatory state withholding requirement
Support the team in all tax matters of the company from transaction, compliance, REIT compliance and international tax provision as needed

What you’ll need

B.A. degree in Accounting or Finance.
5-7 years of combined public and corporate/provision tax experience.
Perceptive, self-starter with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Organized and have good attention to detail.
Able to juggle several projects at once and know how to prioritize deadlines.
Strong computer skills (Excel, Windows, Word, Outlook, etc.).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Dedicated team player that is flexible and adaptable to change.
REIT/Partnership experience preferred but not must have.
