Your role

The Global Operations Training & Development Leader will play a critical and influential role in driving excellence in Operations organization at Digital Realty. The successful candidate will be responsible for running a global training organization and a developing a roadmap that creates a competent and empowered Operations organization.

 

The Global Operations Training & Development Leader will oversee the creation, implementation, and execution of all training initiatives for new and existing operations employees. This position will drive effective training programs across the organization in support of the strategic goals of the business as well as building and managing knowledge management infrastructure.

 

What you’ll do

  • Create Operations learning strategy for new and existing Operations employees, and create an execution roadmap to deliver against the learning strategy
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify new training modules to meet changing operational requirements, and re-prioritize entire program to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives
  • Utilize diverse delivery mediums to optimize target audience engagement and overall effectiveness of training programs
  • Evaluate existing training programs to ensure content is updated and is consistent with current policies and processes
  • Build, maintain, and direct resources to deliver a curriculum and training methodology for both new hire onboarding as well as operations continuing education
  • Develop an operations skill certification program to promote and test learned knowledge and best practices in the field
  • Develop strong partnership with HR Talent Management with global leadership, management and professional skills programs, as well as implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Prioritize and govern all communications/training funnel to Operations
  • Create and drive processes and analytics to provide a feedback loop to determine if the training and development practices are proving effective
  • Build, oversee and actively manage ongoing functionality upgrades of knowledge management platform used to deliver relevant content, collateral and training to the global operations organization
  • Create and drive continuous feedback-based improvements so content owners refine content, improve content architecture to meet operational requirements
  • Manage global training budget
  • Contribute to governance processes and bodies to enable cross-functional learning and development knowledge sharing and success
  • Partner with Human Resources to provide input and content to enterprise learning platforms, tools and technologies

 

What you’ll need

  • 10+ years of previous experience leading a technical training organization required
  • Demonstrated strong listening and collaboration skills for uncovering business needs and translating into executable requirements
  • Ability to lead the creation of learning solutions by others, using appropriate learning strategies, including instructor-led learning, web based and virtual ILT, and hands-on, in-the-work learning
  • Ability to use best-in-class design and delivery techniques within budget
  • Proven track record of marrying strategy to practical, results-driven execution – comfortable operating in both strategy and execution domains
  • Expertise in building and leading high-performance teams
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and comfort communicating to a C+ or board-level stakeholders
  • High motivation level and appetite for fast-paced team environment; readily adaptable to changing market and organizational requirements
  • Experience with learning analytics, data-driven and results oriented
  • Strong multi-tasking, prioritization, and project management skills
  • Ability to travel 30 – 40%
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience with Cornerstone preferred
