HR Officer

In this role you will be responsible for the operational support and administrative management of the Human Resources department so that processes are adhered to, executed and for HR to fulfill its obligations to the company.

Responsible for improving the appropriate HR processes and procedures. Handling of all administrative HR tasks; support the implementation of policies and HR projects. The responsibilities include: support personnel development in all administrative issues, responsible for the recruiting activities and applicant management, support the HR Director regarding the overall administration of performance management, compensation and benefits and other annual cycles or event

Your Role

  • Front desk for all employees and managers regarding all basic HR questions (for example related to policies and employee handbook.)
  • Updates HR administrative tools accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Follows up on HR deadlines and relevant action points with the HR Director
  • Monitors HR-related invoices for accuracy
  • Co-ordinates and gathers data from relevant HR departments in countries to provide management information reports.
  • Monitor and ensures follow up on all administrative matters in relation to starters, leavers, promotions and other internal movements within the company
  • Responsible for employee notifications via the automated illness registration process
  • Keeps track of employee absence/leave, informs HR Director and will follow the guidelines regarding sickleave and other leave types such as maternity leave.
  • Ensures PO’s are raised regarding eg. training, recruitment fee, contractors.
  • Ensures personnel files are up to dated maintained (archive (review) letters, PM document etc.)
  • Provides support to the HR Director with the standardization of all HR documents, create nonstandard letters when needed

What you'll need

  • Good understanding of best-practice HR administration in Belgium, preferably also in the Netherlands
  • Proven experience and understanding in working in a variety of geographies and cultures
  • Experience in working in a highly demanding international environment
  • IT literacy; good understanding of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel)
  • Professional knowledge of Belgium labour law and regulations
  • MBO plus or HBO education in Human Resources or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience within a Human Resources-related administrative function
  • Fluent in English and Dutch both in writing and orally
