Facility Engineer Mechanical

Your Role

As a Facility Engineer Mechanical, you will ensure functionality and availability of the critical mechanical and cooling infrastructure of the data center by monitoring the Building Management Systems (BMS) and other tools and providing engineering support to solve issues. You also ensure that all preventive and corrective maintenance works in your responsibility are completed on time and in accordance with Interxion policies without disruption to customers and associated Service Level Agreements (SLA), while continuously striving to optimize the systems and enhance our Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE). 


What you’ll need

Ability to assess mechanical and electrical complex systems, evaluate risks and possible impact to take well-founded decisions.

  • Strong enthusiasm for learning, with creative thinking and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
  • Outgoing and collaborative type of personality who takes initiative and makes things happen.
  • Commitment to finding opportunities for efficiency improvement in systems and processes.
  • Strong ability to understand, write and review technical documents.
  • Excellent and effective communications skills, both orally and written in English.
  • Bachelor / master’s degree in engineering (Preferably Mechanical, Thermodynamics, Electrical or similar).
  • Experience in a critical environment is an advantage.

Our Operations team keeps our customers’ infrastructure running safely and securely. We get plenty of opportunities to take on a variety of tasks and develop our technical skills. From overseeing electrical power to cooling and fire suppression systems, our team plays a vital role in making sure everything in our data centers operates as it should.

This position is part of the Operations team and reports directly to the Facility Team Leader Mechanical & Cooling. This team is comprised of smart and forward-thinking engineers that combine their specialties to deliver the best performance.
