Position Title:  Partner Business Development Representative

Your role

The Partner Program Business Development Representative (PBDR) drives growth in Digital Realty services and solutions. The PBDR role sets out to drive our key partnerships and create a win-win relationship and uncover new sales opportunities within our partner network. The PBDR qualifies and prioritizes channel leads by articulating the Digital Realty value proposition, messaging, and understanding customer needs and requirements. This position requires the ability to work independently and prioritize effectively. This position will interact with the field sales, channel, alliance and partner sales teams to develop targeted campaigns, share progress, and generate opportunities for strategic partners. Since the PBDR interacts with current and prospective partners, good business judgment and skills are crucial. As the role is designed for real growth, the ideal candidate will be a hunter for new sales opportunities while building a high value relationship with our partners.

What you’ll do

    • Assists in building strong relationships with key stakeholders of channel partners to uncover high value opportunities
    • Nurture target accounts by using multiple touch tactics (e.g. telephone, email, social), sets targets/milestones, and measures results
    • Owns global inbound lead and referral delivery from partners
    • Understands partners’ business and organizational structure
    • Generate new partner demand for the sales organization to pursue while building high value relationships with our partners
    • Has knowledge of the competition and Digital Realty’s standing in the marketplace
    • Qualify channel leads against established criteria before passing a lead to the sales team
    • Comply with all demand management– related service-level agreements 
    • Track and manage prospecting, qualification and nurture activities in the company’s global SFDC instances 
    • Reach and have meaningful, productive conversations with individuals representing the buyer personas targeted by the organization 

What you’ll need

    • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
    • Candidates must have at least 2+ years working in a prospecting role (Business Development, Inside Sales, Telemarketing, etc.)
    • Related working experience in the data center, telecommunications, IT or technology fields preferred
    • Desired applicants will have knowledge of business organizational structures, sales, channel sales processes, and familiarity with CRM systems, SFDC preferred
    • Excellent business judgment and articulating value propositions to channel, reseller and alliance partners
    • Ability to prioritize effectively and work independently 
    • Ability to work in across multiple teams to develop strategies, action plans, and share results
    • Ability to build and manage relationships with marketing, sales and channel teams
    • Comfort with interacting with partners on the telephone and over email
