POSITION: Sr. Director, Global Product Manager 

OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT:

As the Sr. Director - Global Product Management, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Space & Power Products, along with other value-added offerings, are properly managed and performing within the acceptable revenue growth, margin & churn ranges, as set forth by the executive management team. The Sr. Director - Global Product Management will manage the team directly responsible for the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and strategy of our existing Space & Power product sets (Space, Power, DCIM, and Remote Hands Services), as well as Product Development for any new products. There will be a keen focus to drive QTR (quote to report) standardization, global product harmonization, and ways to achieve higher profit margins.

WHAT ROLE WILL BE DOING:

  • Manage a team responsible for the full lifecycle of colocation and wholesale space & power products
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve our QTR process
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitive landscape, market trends, and product/sales collateral
  • Target lower margin capacity to add customer value and improve profitability
  • Manage customer feedback programs
  • Review and maintain market competitive pricing data
  • Sales training and development
  • Optimization of product offering to exceed customer expectations
  • Updating and maintaining product roadmaps
  • Lead sustainability and energy reducing initiative

WHAT THE ROLE REQUIRES:

  • 8+ years of relevant management experience in data center or colocation fields
  • In-depth understanding of the colocation product and multi-tenant data center market
  • Familiar with all IT services (e.g. cloud, hosting, telecom services, peering, et al.)
  • In depth understanding of the colocation market, including market trends, competitors, and pricing fluctuations for retail data center services
  • Deep understanding of multi-tenant data center QTR processes
  • Understanding of data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure and efficiencies
  • Working experience with PLM process and development/management of a product
  • Understanding of cost modeling and ability to interpret financial metrics such as ROI, ROIC, NEY, IRR, EBITDA and Gross/Net Margins
  • Experience with integration and harmonization of product sets for acquired businesses
  • Understanding of electrical utility contracts, energy markets, and factors affecting energy pricing
  • Background with sustainability programs – specifically electrical & cooling initiatives
  • Ability to work independently, influence cross functional teams, and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with: customers, colleagues, and cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated experience being a collaborative team-player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical and business acumen
  • Proficiency in major Microsoft Office applications and advanced knowledge of Excel
  • 4-year degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Engineering or Management/Computer Information Systems – MBA preferred
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
  • Open to candidates in the continental US – in-office or remote
