Your role 

If you are a proven technical data & analytics platform engineer, this is a unique opportunity to make a significant strategic impact on a fast-growing market leader where technology meets real estate.   You will be the primary technologist leading our efforts to grow and expand our Azure Cloud Data Warehouse and Analytics environment.  You'll join and provide leadership to a strong, dynamic, and evolving team.

What you’ll do 

You will be responsible for the technical leadership and management of Digital Reality’s Azure Data and Analytics Platform, overseeing architecture, development, maintenance/support and optimization of all data infrastructure and tools used to collect, store, process, and analyze data, ensuring efficient and reliable access to insights for our business partners from self-service BI to Data Science.

We are a global team, so your ability to successfully collaborate with remote colleagues will be key. Although you'll work a typical Monday-Friday schedule, there may be occasional meetings that are conducted in the evening or early morning to accommodate other time zones.

  • Business Partnership: Collaborate with business stakeholders and Business Analysts to understand business requirements, translate them to technical specifications to ensure the data platform satisfies their needs.
  • Architecture: Expert knowledge in data architecture, including data lakes, data warehouses, data pipelines and data ingestion methods
  • Technical Leadership: manage and provide technical leadership to the engineering and support teams (data architects, data engineers, DBA’s and data analysts).
  • Data Governance: In partnership with the CDO team, establish data quality standards, data access controls, and data governance policies to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor data platform performance, identify bottlenecks, implemental improvement to optimize data processing speeds and scalability.

What you’ll need

  • 15+ years of implementing data warehouses (such as Snowflake, Teradata, Azure Sql Data Warehouse, Oracle ADW, Netezza, Synapse), data lake solutions and visualization tools (PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Visual Tableau, OAC).
  • 10+ years in a technical leadership role
  • 10+ years of implementing CICD (pipelines, data quality and code management)
  • 10+ years of implementing cloud-based data warehouse platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • 10+ years of Power BI 
  • 10+ years of DBA experience
  • 7+ years in Azure Sql/Synapse Cloud Data Warehouse
  • 7+ years Azure Data Factory
  • 5+ years of real-time or near-time solutions (eg. Kafka, Azure event hub)
  • 3+ years Synapse pipelines
  • Strong knowledge of Data science, AI, Chatbots with predictive modelling
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud networks connections using VPC, Direct Connect, Express Route.
  • Expert understanding of data modeling of Star Schema/Kimball dimensional modelling
  • Strong experience in identifying slowly changing dimensions, role playing dimensions and hierarchies
  • Must be an expert in SQL
  • A self-motivated individual who can foster productive relationships with diverse customers and colleagues
  • A critical thinker. Must be able to clearly & concisely explain reasoning for decisions
  • Effective communicator. Must be able to express complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to understand and improve business processes
  • Ability to communicate challenges and resolutions to business users and technical teams
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders

Our published pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and geographical location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. Moreover, an employee’s total compensation package varies by role and may include salary, cash bonus or commissions, and equity awards not quantified below.
