Your role
The MDC is responsible for the integral management of the Technical Operations and Customer Services on a Datacenter. The MDC manages the core-dilemma of a service-oriented cost center: to provide a cost-driven, reliable and predictable technical and client service portfolio.
The MDC therefore ensures performance and reliability as agreed on with GMD on one hand and Customer Success on the other hand, in a cost driven manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Budget: Operations is the most important Cost Center of the Country organization. The MDC is budget responsible for short and mid-term Opex and Capex consequences, regarding Technical and Customer Operations and related tools, materials, projects and staffing of the Datacenter Team (FTE).
- Customer Focus: The MDC together with Customer Success sets up the customer service plan for the involved Datacenter and identifies areas of improvement in customer service at Datacenter team and Customer Success level. This should lead to positive customer engagement and upselling of added value services, which should lead to extra revenues
- Maintenance: The MDC is responsible for proper implementation and execution of the preventive and corrective maintenance activities as well as event (alarm), technical incident and problem management on the involved site in a cost driven manner. The MDC therefore monitors SLA performance and agreed KPI’s on Hygiene and Cost. This should lead to a reliable and predictable performance.
- People-Management: The MDC directly coordinates the Datacenter team on Technical Operations, Remote Hands and Maintenance. The MDC is responsible for the Resourcing, Teaming, Engagement & Retention of the Datacenter team. The MDC does team Performance reviews and Development, including ownership & hygiene, and the individual Performance, Learning & Development cycle in cooperation with the HR BP.
What You’ll Need:
- Educated to a bachelor level or equivalent, in a relevant technical subject.
- Fluent in English and Dutch, both in writing and orally
- Advanced knowledge of how to manage, train, and coach a team effectively
- 2-5 years of experience in managing teams in a technical service operations environment.
- Experience of project planning/scheduling and reporting.
- Experience in the data centre sector or telecommunications.
- ITIL Foundation Certification preferred

- Organizing, planning and prioritizing skills: ability to work under pressure and keep calm in a crisis. Develops realistic plans, set goals, aligns plans and coordinates with others.
- Interpersonal communication skills: listens attentively, speaks clearly, creates accurate and punctual reports, gives clear instructions, shares information and ideas with others.
- Change Leadership skills: able to translate a given Change plan into an involved team showing ownership, clear on accountability and goals, rewarding contribution/performance that builds a positive culture in line with the organizational values: Customer Focused, Result Driven Teamwork.
