Position Title:  Product Delivery Manager

Your role

On behalf of the IT Infrastructure Department, the IT Product Delivery Manager takes care of the delivery of equipment and engineering work at location in a timely and cost-efficient manner. To achieve this objective IT Product Delivery Manager defines and deploys an end-to-end process, starting with the annual planning of activities until the completion of the installation at location.

What you’ll do

Setting up the IT Delivery Process:

  • Agrees with D&C the activities to be executed to support the infrastructure installation in new Data Centers.
  • Agrees with Engineer the activities to be executed to support life cycle management.
  • Agrees with IT Service Operations the activities to be executed to provide/install equipment at location.
  • Agrees with Finance the funding and cost allocations models.
  • Develops the playbooks for various IT-delivery and life cycle management activities.

Setting up the Annual Planning:

  • Agrees the annual plan for infrastructure installation with the D&C-department.
  • Agree the annual plan for life cycle management with the system- and network engineering department.
  • Builds an overall plan with activities to be executed at each location.
  • Optimizes the plan to reduce the amount of location visits.
  • Maintains the plan based on the latest changes and re-optimizes if needed.

Setting up the IT Supply Chain:

  • Selects global vendors who can execute delivery and installation tasks as defined in the playbook.
  • Agrees the order-, procurement-, delivery-, installation- and invoicing process with these vendors.
  • Pre-agrees pricing for activities where possible, to avoid the need for location assessments.
  • Takes care of master agreements with these vendors to cover liabilities in the services being procured.
  • Shares the annual plan and timely aligns on required adjustments.

Ordering and Installation activities:

  • Processing orders on behalf of Design and Construction or the IT Infrastructure departments.
  • Align on any issues between requester and vendor (planning, availability of equipment, availability at location, etc.).
  • Oversee the quality of the execution of the activities ordered.
  • Handle invoicing and cost allocation.

Vendor selection and Procurement:

  • Intake of requirements of IT Engineering and IT Service Operations department.
  • Selection of potential vendors to deliver the required product and/or service.
  • Facilitate a vendor comparison, product and/or service comparison together with the requesters.
  • Getting agreement on the final selection of a vendor, product and/or service and conditions.
  • Finalizing legal agreement with the vendor and Legal.

Contract Management:

  • Overseeing the outstanding contracts, we have with vendors.
  • Manage expiration dates and timely initiating the process for renewal or termination.
  • Global coordination across different departments with different global vendors
  • Challenging circumstances to align on planning changes versus vendor capability and availability.
  • Some travel to other DLR-locations might be required.
