Your role

The Technical Operations Engineer provides technical, (preventative) maintenance, repairs, installation, and customer service support according to the agreed SLAs to maximize client satisfaction. The working focus is on efficiency and optimization.  This role is day shifts.

Job Magnitude: 

Latitude:          The Position reports directly to the Senior Site Engineering Manager and Lead Engineer. Internal contact is with the Technical Operations Planning Coordinator, the European Service Centre (ESC), Customer Services, and the local office. External contact is primarily with suppliers and customers. 

Level of Impact:          Surveillance, maintenance, and repairs of buildings and equipment are performed in accordance with the quality standards and agreed SLA adhering to all rules and regulations regarding Health & Safety to maximize uptime and PUE. 

Budget:             No budget responsibility 

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Execute maintenance and repairs of buildings and equipment to minimize downtime 
  • Day-to-day surveillance of building and equipment and reports all building and customer defects to the relevant superior. 
  • Monitors and directs repairs and maintenance executed by subcontractors and documents the results. 
  • Acts as the first line (if desirable) and second line support with respect to responses to alarms and handles or escalates alarms according to guidelines. 
  • Monitor equipment to ensure adherence to the agreed SLA 
  • Pro-actively indicate if SLAs are under pressure
  • Complete paperwork records and provide quotations for outstanding actions 
  • To be fully compliant with health and safety 
  • Hazard Reporting on a consistent basis around the site. 
  • Be eager to learn and develop new skills 
  • Adhere to the QHSSE Responsibilities Matrix 
  • A willingness to accept flexibility in duties to the needs of the business requirements   

Additional Duties and Responsibilities: 

Assumes other special projects/assignments as directed by the Site/Campus Manager and/or Service Planning Team. 

Essential Knowledge: 

Experience with electrical systems, good understanding of generator and UPS  systems; data centre experience is of advantage

Qualifications

  • Must hold NVQ Level 2 or Equivalent City & Guilds diploma in Electrical or Mechanical systems 
  • Experience within a commercial setting 
  • Good technical knowledge and hands-on experience
  • As a specialist, to have knowledge on Electrical systems, HVAC, etc.
