Your role
Are you ready to take on a leadership role in ensuring the highest standards of performance and reliability at our cutting-edge data center sites? As the Data Centre Manager (MDC), you'll have a direct impact on optimizing our operations through four core pillars: Service Excellence, Infrastructure Excellence, Sustainability, and Governance, Risk & Compliance.
You will oversee all aspects of site management, from maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to customer service activities, ensuring the smooth functioning of our state-of-the-art facilities. Your leadership will drive asset and capacity management, ensuring the successful implementation of new installations and seamless handovers.
As the Single Point of Contact for all site-related matters, you'll take ownership of service-level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring high standards are met while proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
You'll also lead and mentor a talented team of Site Engineers and Technicians, fostering their development and encouraging a culture of excellence and innovation.

Overall responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to the QHSSE Responsibilities Matrix, fostering a culture of safety, quality, health, security, and environmental compliance across all sites
- Responsible for maintaining the operational integrity of the sites and all assets, ensuring they are functioning correctly and set to the appropriate standards.
- Ensure team compliance with agreed procedures and work instructions for daily site management, including housekeeping and status reporting, to maintain operational efficiency.
- Accountable for operating the sites as energy-efficiently as possible, collaborating with relevant functions, and overseeing the accurate and effective performance of monitoring and management systems.
- Responsible for managing Site Performance and SLA Performance of the customer contracts within the sites and required inputs for SLA reporting for specific customers
- Accountable for managing all team members, including training, coaching, fostering development, and encouraging participation in company-wide communities, along with overseeing all other aspects of people management.
- Manage a site group budget to maintain tidiness, cleanliness, and workability for the team.
- Accountable for approving capacity requests for power, space, and cooling as requested by the Solution Engineering function, including providing feasibility solutions (CAPEX Feedback) and alternative proposals when necessary. Additionally, responsible for providing input to help Solution Engineering
- maintain a comprehensive capacity overview to streamline the process of providing information for indicative offers.
- Provide input into planning & budgeting processes within Service Operations, also contributing and providing insights into the Property Ops & Service Planning and the Project function.
What you’ll need
- 5 – 10 years’ experience working in mission-critical mechanical & electrical environments within a large company, IT/Telecoms industry preferred
- 3+ years of people management experience required, with both direct and indirect reports
- Experience in Data Centres or a similar environment is considered a significant advantage though not essential; this will be a key consideration should multiple candidates be assessed for suitability
- Educated to a higher national certificate in a technical field.
- Proficient in English both written and verbal
