Your role

The Manager of Projects (MoP) develops and provides an in-subregion operations capability to complement the day to day operations of site managers and functional departments whereby the main purpose is to improve infrastructure quality, operational readiness and reduce snags in the DC construction before go-life.
 

You oversee and manage DC infrastructure life-cycle projects, including replacements, retirements,
expansion, and re-construction, technically and budget-wise, including the definition, planning, design,
implementation, and successful handover to involved stakeholders. These projects are managed by scope, budget, time, quality, risk, communication in line with agreed procedures and agreements.
 

You ensure technical compliance standards are being met across all DCs and projects and will take ownership in technical audits and leads a team of highly skilled professionals and responsible for the selection and skills development of all team members.

Your Responsibilities:.

  • Strategically plans and optimizes resourcing, including workforce allocation, equipment procurement, and budget management, ensuring the effective and efficient execution of data center projects.
  • Supports the Operations Director regarding project management across the country (and when applicable the sub-region) and is part of the local Operational management team
  • Proactively engages with the EMEA Operations Management team to ensure alignment of policies and a consistent global customer experience.
  • Managing responsibilities and coordinating cross-functional initiatives for data center life-cycle projects.
  • Builds and maintains a highly capable team seen as the technical authority in the sub-region, fostering a culture of driving for results and engagement.
  • Provides support to all involved stakeholders during data center construction phases, including planning meetings, inspections, testing, and commissioning.
  • Maintains a risk register for all data centers and reports on required improvement activities.
  • Accountable for project deliverables being on time, within budget, and at the required level of quality.
  • Reports on project status, budget, risks, and progress in line with agreed policies, standards, and governance.

What you’ll need

  • Degree in electrical, mechanical or infrastructure technologies and 7+ years of job experience
  • Proven knowledge and experience in Project Management.
  • Good overall knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in an industrial or Data Centre environment.
  • Relevant Project Management certifications like Prince2, IPMA, or PMP (PMI) are required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a role as a Project Manager in technical environments.
