Your role 

We are hiring a Real Estate Tax Director, the role will give you the opportunity to expand your skills and experience working on Real Estate Property Taxes. What you’ll do 

As a Real Estate Tax Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to mitigate property tax risk exposure to drive annual property NOI, asset value and FFO for the entire Americas region.


Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage all Property Taxes for the Americas Region
  • 9 markets, 148 properties – 99 data center sites, 49 PBB sites 
  • Manage existing Tax Consultant relationships
  • Assist in strategizing for Property Tax Appeals
  • Review and coordination of Personal Property Taxes
  • Manage jurisdiction specific Revenue Taxes
  • Partner with Investment team to review potential tax implications associated with Land and property acquisitions
  • Proactively establish assessed values for new inventory- ground up development (greenfield sites), repositioning/updating existing inventory – converting PBB/TKF to colo, updating TKF to current standards
  • Maintain all existing Sales Tax exemptions and identify new opportunities.
  • Partner with the Asset Management Team to review development sites pre-entitlement


More specifically, you will

  • Develop and execute property/market specific tax strategy
  • Monitor Ongoing changes to tax codes and all legislation that potentially impacts Property Tax risk exposure 
  • Negotiate consulting agreement terms and conditions – recurring annual services, appeals, project specific engagements
  • Establish performance KPIs and SLAs for tax consultants, complete annual performance reviews
  • Review tax appeal recommendations provided by tax



What you’ll need

To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience (7 to 10 years) in Commerical Real Estate Tax Management
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing Commercial Real Estate Tax strategies.
  • Experience in fast-paced environment, highly driven with the ability to conduct multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • An understanding of computer systems, and skill with Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
