Your role

The Facility Engineer (FE) provides technical, (preventative) maintenance, repairs, installation, and customer service support according the agreed SLAs to maximize client satisfaction. Working focus is on efficiency and optimization. FE performs surveillance, maintenance and repairs of building and equipment in accordance with the quality standards and adhering all rules and regulation regarding Health & Safety to maximize uptime and PUE. To ensure all environmental conditions are always maintained regarding critical building systems. Engineers must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge of Air conditioning, UPS, Generators, LV systems, which will include the ability to fault find using the production of graphical information and the utilisation of current alarm data.

 

What you'll do

Main Tasks: Overall Responsibilities 

  • Primary focus during business hours is on Facilities Engineer responsibilities 
  • For the purposes of on-call and maintaining customer satisfaction, focus of this role is also given to Customer Services responsibilities as required and instructed by the direct or indirect line manager 
  • The engineer must maintain an up-to-date working knowledge on all processes and procedures related to facilities including but not limited to cooling systems, access controls, fire suppression systems etc.  
  • Maintain a working understanding of EPOs and escalation procedures to ensure effective First Line Facility support 
  • Ensures Operational Consistency and aligns with Interxion Group Standards as required 

 

Primary Focus: Facilities Responsibilities 

  • Execute maintenance and repairs of buildings and equipment in order to minimize downtime 
  • Day-to-day surveillance of building and equipment and reports all building and customer defects to the relevant superior. 
  • Monitors and directs repairs and maintenance executed by subcontractors and documents the results. 
  • Acts as first line and second line support with respect to responses on alarms and handles or escalates alarms according to guidelines during business hours 
  • Monitor equipment to ensure adherence to agreed SLA and pro-actively indicate if SLAs are under pressure 
  • Participate in any Infrastructural projects that require Facility Engineering expertise 
  • Perform Quality Checks related to the facilities e.g., check relevant documentation and test reports & follow up tickets etc.  
  • Assist and advise Service Design in design of deployments and expansions relating to impact on facilities when require

What you’ll need

  • Previous experience as a technician in an electrical or industrious environment 
  • Fluent in English, both written and orally; Other European languages an advantage.
  • Communication Skills • Attention to Detail • Commitment & Drive 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment 
  • Pro-active with a can-do attitude 
  • Team player with ability to work autonomously
  • Secondary education in a technical field 
  • Previous experience in a data centre
