Your role
The Lead Electrical Engineer oversees all aspects of the data centres with primary focus on electro, the critical physical infrastructure of the assigned sites, and ensures that all work is completed on time, to a high standard of quality, and in accordance with Digital Realty policies, without impacting internal/external customers.
You are involved in optimization projects that require collaboration with a variety of support teams and is designed to support these projects from planning to completion. You have responsibility for creating the maintenance plan prior to handover to the Service Planning Team. You monitor the maintenance plan and all local electrical maintenance, repair, upgrade, and expansion work on existing and new facilities and provides status reports on repairs, upgrades and expansions. You are responsible for second level support and works closely with other specialists such as DTEG Engineers, manufacturers of technical equipment and their suppliers to escalate to the appropriate level if necessary. You participate in the on-call organization and ensures that resources are trained and capable to provide initial response to incidents, not limited to their main area only. And last but not least you have responsibility for the safety of technical equipment and its environmental compatibility, the availability of the DCs, the status of the assets, cleanliness in the DCs, documentation, alarm monitoring and PUE improvements.
