Position Title: Design Engineer

Your Role

Joining us as a Design Engineer, you will support with pre-contract technical consulting, to match the customer expectations with our capacity and feasibility by designing technical solutions. You will act as the main interface between Sales and Operations departments. You will achieve success through understanding the technical possibilities and the customer needs to produce the best suitable service solution. At the same time, you will serve as a reliable source of information for all departments and contribute not only to customer satisfaction, but also to optimal use of our space and other DC capacities.

  • Assist Sales with pre-sales technical inquiries and design activities.
  • Understand and document customer technical needs related to critical infrastructure and fit-out requirements, designing, and presenting tailored solutions to meet those needs.
  • Provide an assessment on power, cooling, and square meter availability.
  • Create technical designs for customer lifecycle activities, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and design parameters.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Implementation, Service Operations, Customer Success and Capacity Management to ensure designed solutions adhere to defined standards and production requirements.
  • Update facility floor plans using AutoCAD and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software.
  • Provide support during audits at data center sites, ensuring data integrity and alignment with standards.

Your Profile

  • An education to ‘ A’ level or equivalent, preferably in a technical field (electrical engineering or IT)
  • 3 years’+ experience in a technical role, good technical drawing skills and proficiency using AutoCad
  • Ability to analyze and interpret operational data and identify areas for improvement
  • Analytical and adaptive, with high level of customer focus and proactive, solution-oriented thinking approach 
  • Fluent in English and German and effective communication skills, both oral and written

As always, we offer a competitive salary and benefits (based on our collective agreement we pay at least 3.300,- € gross per month).
