Position Title: Master Planning Lead & Architectural SME
Location: London

Your role:

Leads the front-end master planning and due diligence assessment of new development campus/single building opportunities as well as acting as the civil, structural and architectural subject matter expert within the wider EMEA - Design, Engineering & Construction function. It’s fundamental to the quality, technical delivery evolution and operational performance of all CSA elements of our standardised product offering to our customers, requiring innovation, and driving force to ensure that DRT remains as market leader. This high-level individual contributor role actively contributes to: new project master plans; development of civil, structural and architectural selection of materials, workmanship and construction systems for use by the wider Design Delivery Group; design standardisation; and continuous improvement development and implementation. 

Requiring predominately architectural, civil or structural discipline technical expertise as well as an understanding of commercial and delivery schedule awareness to support the ongoing acquisition master planning and delivery of new project developments as well as contributing to ongoing design standardisation, all with a view to continually improving our overall development delivery in a safe and commercially beneficial manner within recognised schedule constraints. 

The Design, Engineering & Construction Group’s driver is to deliver a quality service and product that complies with our internal EMEA standards as well as our customer’s expectations all in line with DRT’s project goals and by working with our professional teams applying DRT’s systems, procedures and culture.

What you’ll need: 

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years data centre design/delivery environment experience as SME in any of the Architectural, Civil or Structural disciplines
  • 3-5 years of progressive management experience; 
  • Either civil, structural or architectural data centre design experience or experience of highly loaded and tight tolerance building designs to support highly services facilities; 
  • As a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in either civil or structural engineering or architecture; 
  • Ideally a higher qualification (Masters/PHD) in any of the CSA disciplines; 
  • Ideally Chartered or holds another professional registration. 
  • An awareness of contractual responsibilities and internal/external interfaces; 
  • Previous involvement in the delivery of multiple large developments.
