Director Accounting

Your role

The Accounting Director is a senior leader in the Global Accounting organization and the EMEA R2R team which will deliver work class finance solutions to the EMEA region of Digital Realty. As a senior finance professional, you will bring all your experience to this new organization as we implement a new finance operating model and organization. Serving as a "player-coach" to our EMEA-wide R2R team, the successful candidate should have a deep understanding of US GAAP and any other European GAAP, preferably IFRS and Dutch local statutory reporting requirements. 

You will be expected to be a leader in the post-merger transformation and alignment of the EMEA R2R team with focus on key markets (France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Nordics), being knowledge on the technical aspects of accounting, especially local compliance requirements as well as ensuring your team operate to the highest standards, proactively manage risk areas, provide solutions, and implement process improvements. 

What you’ll need

• A candidate with deep technical knowledge and experience managing US GAAP and various local GAAP statutory financial statements and audits
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, as we build the combined organization
• Professionally qualified accountant with 10+ years PQE
• Experience in leading or playing a senior role in a significant projects / transactions, i.e. M&A, Accounting policy changes, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional relationship building skills, both internally & externally
• High levels of attention to detail and ability to join the dots in ambiguous environments
• Have the gravitas of a senior leader for a large, distributed organization
