Position Title:  Director - Business Development - Americas

Location: Dallas/Austin, TX 

Your role: is a market strategy and business development role focused on researching, defining and executing against market strategy. The resource in this role will aid in assessing the market dynamics, selecting the target customers, setting the long-term goals and objectives, defining the plan to achieve these and orchestrating cross-functional resources necessary to execute against that plan. 

What you’ll do:

  • Work with The Segments Strategy and Analytics team to create market strategy and analysis plans.
  • Work with Portfolio Management and Investments teams to articulate growth plans for Americas Markets and aid business cases and strategy for new investments.
  • Understand the competition, capabilities and approach to effectively compete
  • Drive commercial strategy (e.g. pricing) and solutioning (e.g. product positioning, value proposition)
  • Work closely with Americas Sales focused on Networks, Content & Digital Media, Cloud and other strategic service provider customers. 
  • Engages directly with customer contacts across various departments/functions, primarily focused on Business Planning, Product Management, DC/network infrastructure planning, Solutions Engineering, Procurement
  • Support strategic account plan creation and maintenance for the targeted accounts outlined as magnets and key connected community constituents
  • Work with Channel & Alliances team to roll out programs to targeted service providers and aid sales in signing them onto the program and getting initial traction.

What you’ll need

  • Significant work experience and track record of delivering results in business development, product marketing or strategic selling role in IT and / or Telecommunications industry
  • Degree required; MBA or University Degree in applicable discipline
  • Intimate understanding of the customer’s business strategy, products, applications
  • Understanding of the Americas regional market within the DC industry: technology deployed, problems, strategies, workflows, value chain, etc. 
  • Intimate understanding of Network, Content, and Cloud customers infrastructure and business requirements
  • Access to network of contacts of industry experts, customers, suppliers, partners at influencing and decision making level 
  • Ability to carry on credible conversations with executives and specialists within the customer on cloud technology, datacenter and network infrastructure planning
  • Proven ability to articulate clear value propositions and negotiate complex agreements in multinational setting.
  • Excellent communication and presenting skills and how to network successfully
  • Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively with a team 
  • Able to promotes ideas on behalf of self or others; expressing opinions, information and key points of an argument clearly, responding quickly to the needs of an audience and their reaction and feedback
  • Deals well with ambiguity and making positive use of the opportunities it presents
