Capacity & Energy Manager (f/m/d)

Your role 

The Capacity & Energy Manager (f/m/d) is a key contributor to Data Center energy & capacity management. Responsibilities include tracking and forecasting Data Center energy usage and efficiency (PUE), capacity planning and cost, performing sensitivity and scenario analyses, monitoring energy market trends. You will also be overlooking capacity platforms, keeps documentation up to date and collecting information about customer usage including variances. 

You will be accountable for establishing and managing a Data Center Capacity & Energy Function and leading all operational activities to measure, monitor and forecast capacity of the Digital Realty Data Centers. Success will be achieved through ensuring efficient function of the Data Centers and predicting future requirements to ensure cost optimization and operational excellence through improvements in efficiency and Energy demand planning.

Your Profile 

• 3-5 years’ experience working in mission-critical mechanical & electrical environments within a large company, IT/Telecoms industry preferred 
• Bachelor-level education in a technical/engineering field 
• Experience in data centres or a similar environment is essential 
• Knowledge of key infrastructure components of DCs (like UPS’s, Generators, and Cooling systems) 
• Ability to read and preferably work with Electrical and Mechanical diagrams 
• Experience with maintenance and maintenance systems 
• ITIL and/or Service Now Experience is preferred but not essential 
• Can prepare & present relevant information in front of all types of audiences 
• Commitment & drive; Is committed, internally driven, and willing to go the extra mile 
• Open for change: Adapts to change, is open to new ideas, takes on new responsibilities, handles pressure, and adjusts plans to meet changing needs
• Pro-active; Has a can-do mentality, can delegate when appropriate
