Your role  

The Project Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of construction projects.  This will include providing leadership to contractors and vendors associated with the delivery of DLR Projects. The Project Manager may also be assigned the responsibility for outsourced Owner Representative/Project Managers who will provide additional management support for the delivery of the project(s). Project assignments will generally be regional; however, projects out of region may be assigned. The Project Manager will manage challenging deliverables against aggressive project expectations but will report to the Director of Delivery. The candidate will have overall responsibility for delivering the assigned project(s) on budget (heavy emphasis on value-engineering) on time and assurance that the project scope and quality meet the DLR Design Standards and the objectives set for the project.

What you’ll do

The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating the day to day activities of the various design professionals, contractors and vendors in the delivery of DLR Projects.  This position helps monitor the various design professionals, contractors and vendors in performance of duties on assigned projects.

For Build-to-Suit Projects, the Assistant Project Manager will be the backup customer contact to ensure that all day to day project responsibilities are met by the various design professionals, contractors and vendors on the project.


  • Assist with multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Support contract negotiations with vendors as necessary.
  • Coordinate project schedules, activities and keep all stakeholders informed of project status.
  • Support adherence to DLR Project Delivery / Management Standards by all project participants, on all projects.
  • Update and distribute monthly project status reporting.
  • Assist with preparation of requests for proposals to Contractors, Consultants, and Equipment Vendors including detailed evaluations and recommendations.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university and a minimum three years of project management experience of technically complex projects. 
  • Project management and organizational skills.  Track record of successful project completions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Requires working knowledge of design and construction terms, principles and contracts. 
  • Professional License (Architect or Engineer) desired.
  • Ability to review and analyze budgets and estimates.
  • Must have a comprehensive understanding of advanced electrical, mechanical, security/monitoring, and fire detection/suppression systems.
  • Understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry.  Must be familiar with basic building code requirements.
  • Ability to understand and interpret design drawings, construction drawings, construction specifications, design and construction contracts, project schedules and detailed budgets / estimate summaries.
  • Experienced in the use of MS Office software and AutoCAD (desired).
