What you’ll do

As a first-line manager of the Software Engineering team, this role handles the overall health and performance of your team. This role reports to the Director of Engineering.

  • You are charged with building and leading a software development team. This includes hiring, as well as having engineers directly report to you and supporting them in their growth.
  • You will collaborate with engineering management, product managers, and your team to maintain product integrity, manage expectations through transparency, and deliver on those expectations.
  • In partnership with Product Management and your team, you will define weekly priorities including managing the technical backlog.
  • You lead your team to set technical direction congruent with company vision and strategic product goals.
  • You facilitate decisions about the design and implementation of software delivery and processes.
  • You ensure your team consistently and incrementally delivers features that provide value to our customers and our business.
  • East coast work hours
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a talented and engaged engineering team

What you’ll need

  • 2+ years of team lead or management experience, people management experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience including architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • 2+ years of Agile software development experience, Scrum experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience hiring and growing high-performing self-managed teams
  • Excellent communication skills including experience collaborating across departments and functions
