Senior Indirect Tax Manager EMEA

Position Title: Senior Indirect Tax Manager EMEA
Location: Amsterdam

Your role

The Senior Indirect Tax Manager EMEA works with the Sr. Director Tax EMEA to provide strategic indirect tax resources to our local business functions and support the global corporate tax team.  Work includes a variety of indirect tax issues in a fast-paced, growing organization. 

  • Leading our EMEA Indirect Tax workflow including Indirect Tax controversy matters.
  • Developing and execute EMEA Indirect Tax planning strategies.
  • Defining operating model for VAT management.
  • Monitoring and document pending EMEA Indirect Tax legislation applicable to DLR and develop appropriate responses and strategies.
  • Communicating EMEA Indirect Tax law changes to Global Tax Leadership and impacted team leadership.
  • Reviewing client and vendor agreements to analyze EMEA Indirect Tax matters.
  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders on recommend approach and risk mitigation/indirect tax planning strategies regarding potential new business ventures or expansion.
  • Assisting the EMEA investment team with indirect tax aspects of acquisitions, dispositions and M&A related tax structuring, due diligence and modeling requests.
  • Periodic reviewing of VAT filings.
  • Management and monitoring of adjustments to VAT filings upon external advisors/tax inspectors/internal findings.
  • Continuous improvements of data quality (provide guidance to AP re invoice requirements, details, timelines of processing, sample testing etc.)
  • Maintaining oversight and management for VAT audits.
  • Working with VAT advisors across EMEA

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or law with specialisation in taxation
  • Master’s degree in taxation is desirable
  • Minimum 6 – 8 years of public tax experience, inhouse tax experience is a plus. Big 4 experience preferred. 
  • Good understanding of international tax environment including key European markets such as Netherlands, UK, France and Germany
  • Multinational corporation experience is desirable.
  • Fluent in English
