Position Title: Marketing Manager, APAC (Korea)

Location: Seoul

Your role

Digital Realty’s Marketing Manager, APAC (Korea) will play a lead role in driving field and channel marketing efforts for our business in Korea. The candidate will design, implement and execute marketing programmes and events with the goal of increasing awareness of the company, generating qualified leads and accelerating the progression of opportunities in the sales pipeline. The candidate will support both the direct sales and channel sales efforts in these markets. The candidate will be responsible creating and executing demand campaigns, working closely on campaigns with the local country sales team, supported by the regional marketing team. The candidate will also be responsible for monitoring performance and reporting on results to demonstrate the return on investment (ROI) of the marketing programmes. Their activities will cover the full marketing mix from designing the strategy, to tactical execution using the full marketing mix such as digital tools, events, social media, PR, and brand building.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the design and implementation of KR marketing strategy aligned to KR Sales targets and APAC region marketing strategy (goals, target, plan, tools) to generate demand and fill the sales pipeline
  • Work together with sales and business development to execute targeted Go-To-market Plans
  • Provide market intelligence, market updates and industry intel to facilitate KR sales team & APAC marketing team with local positioning and decision-making
  • Increase awareness of the Digital Realty brand in local market – generating demand from both within KR as well as from across the APAC region and other global regions in which Digital Realty operates.
  • Help the sales team to position the global Digital Realty platform to Korean enterprises and service providers to serve their expansion needs
  • Develop and execute demand generation campaigns.
  • Manage event calendar, including presence at events, core messaging, virtual attendance, own company events, speaking slots
  • Support local channel & alliance marketing activities
  • Lead performance of customer and prospect database; improve social media followership and engagement
  • Run local digital marketing initiatives (SEO/ SEM, content syndication, display ads, etc)
  • Manage local country domain of, including web page development with localised content, translation of global assets, etc
  • Create and localise marketing content.
  • Effective agency management
  • Lead PR activity in Korea to increase company brand awareness, aligned with corporate PR activity to ensure best impact
  • Own and manage the KR marketing budget
  • Assume other special projects/assignments from the VP UK Sales and Marketing.

What you’ll need

  • Educated to degree level in either Marketing, Communications, Business or equivalent
  • 10+ years’ experience in a B2B marketing environment, in the technology sector
  • Experience working with global tech companies an advantage
  • Experience working in global B2B technology firms an advantage
  • Demonstrated experience in working with sales leaders in driving pipeline and revenue
  • Experience in agency management
  • Experience in account-based marketing and sales enablement
  • Self-starter with ability to work in ambiguous situations and create new programs/ processes
  • Essential to speak English
  • Ability to work independently, in a matrix structure and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment; ability to multitask and effectively manage time
  • Ability build and maintain effective relationships with multiple stakeholder groups
  • Strong attention to detail; demonstrated ability for accuracy and thoroughness
  • Proven negotiation, problem-solving, organization and project management skills
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills with an innate attention to detail
  • Extensive experience within technology industry field marketing, channel marketing, business development
  • Strong, demonstrated understanding of local marketing approaches to acquire and retain customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (bilingual, English and Korean)
  • Excellent planning skills; creation and follow-up of plans, setting priorities
  • Independent and proactive thinking and workstyle
  • Positive attitude towards transformation and change; motivated to work in a fast-growing market
  • Has informal and formal leadership style and used to working in a matrix environment
  • Understands how to deliver clearly defined and measurable results with impact
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, Marketo and Salesforce platform an advantage
  • Knowledge of local marketing platforms (Naver, Kakao, etc) + global platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook
  • Understand GDPR requirements and privacy regulations for marketing activities
