Position Title: ServiceNow Director - Datacenter Systems

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)

 

Your role

The Director of Service Delivery will work closely with business champions, business analysts, and team members to analyze and translate business requirements into workflows that are enabled in ServiceNow. These high-quality solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization’s architectural standards. This role requires strong ServiceNow development and administration experience, who will be involved in the full systems life cycle and will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting application software that is delivered on the platform. This role will make recommendations toward the development of new code or reuse of existing code. Responsibilities may also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation, and buy versus build recommendations.

This is a hands-on technical position that requires collaboration and coordination with the technical directors of:  Data Center Information Management (DCIM), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Customer and Portfolio Portals, Automated Control Systems (ACS), and key strategic suppliers.   As Digital Realty leverages technology platforms, the Director of ServiceNow Delivery Platform, is key to the integration of workflows into the platform and leverages the technical skills of colleagues that are experts in the technology that powers Data Centers. 

In addition, the Director will support internal and external product development teams, drive consistency throughout the portfolio, and provide direction and training to internal users.

 

What you’ll do

  • Familiar with Agile SDLC and Project Management principles
  • Create technical specifications and detailed application design documentation based on business requirements; Provide solutions to enhancements requests for existing ServiceNow applications
  • Design, code, test and deploy ServiceNow applications that support the automation of data center operations functionality, based on technical specifications and in accordance with ServiceNow best practices
  • Work with users and colleagues to troubleshoot reported problems pertaining to ServiceNow applications; Identify the cause, design or develop an approach for resolution; Upon approval, implement the correction/customize applications
  • Provide support for custom ServiceNow applications.
  • Work with colleagues to integrate ServiceNow with external systems
  • Develop off shore resources to deliver base functionality.

 

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree with coursework in computing or information systems (or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 6+ years of progressively responsible, computer programming and analysis experience
  • Advanced level of JavaScript programming, specifically using ServiceNOW’s GlideRecord JavaScript class.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
  • Advanced level in ServiceNOW’s administration, including:  Workflows, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, Notifications / Events, Service Portal (not CMS), Scripted and Table based APIs (Inbound / Outbound)
  • Ability to collaborate with clients and other developers to effectively document business processes and other requirements
  • Experience in systems analysis, design and a solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies
  • Thorough knowledge of the methods and equipment used in electronic data processing, including system analysis and design, and computer programming techniques
  • Strong skill in writing programs for computer applications
  • Strong skill in analyzing and solving complex data processing and computing problems
  • Strong understanding of all phases of the application development lifecycle and project management disciplines
  • Ability to coordinate a work team and train lower-level programmers and analysts for specific tasks or assignments
  • Ability to assess critical operations from a high level and develop solutions.  Provide oversight, guidance and expertise without micro-management.
    Ability to effectively synthesize issues or incidents affecting operations to both management and customers.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret complex project documents and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and control systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present and communicate to internal and external customers.
  • Travel to sites throughout the regions where Digital Realty operates may be required.
