Health & Safety Coordinator

Your Role

The Health & Safety and Environment Coordinator (HSEC) drives together with the QHSE Manager a positive HSE culture within the company and does everything to prevent the occurrence of incidents. By controlling the Health & Safety & Environment Rules & Regulations for internal- and external stakeholders which are known and applied, you ensure the highest level of safety within DLR. The HSEC co-monitors the overall Health & Safety program for all data centers in the local organization, including all related compliances, certifications and audits and relates HQ policies to the local team. In this role you also think about possible improvements in function of the local legislation and imposed internal rules from headquarters.

In this role you report directly to the QHSE Manager of DLR Brussels. Internal contact is with all departments in the local DLR organisation.

What you’ll need

• Valid qualification in occupational health and safety (prevention advisor level 3 or 2)
• Previous experience in a similar role/environment is essential.
• Experience in a data center is ideal.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role in health and safety in a critical environment (e.g. a data center or power station)
• Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and oral
• Proven initial experience as a safety officer
• Good knowledge of health and safety legal guidelines
• Skilled in preparing reports and developing relevant policies, good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
• Excellent organizational and motivational skills, attention to detail and observation skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
