Technical Product Manager

Position Title:  Technical Product Manager

Location: Remote, US 

Your role

Digital Realty is seeking to add a Technical Product Manager to our Service Innovation team. This is a key role within the Product Management organization and is responsible for translating the product roadmap into actionable steps to enable the product development teams to build the product while ensuring that the product goals remain aligned to the company’s business objectives.

What you’ll do

  • Work with the development team to ensure that product requirements are understood and built accordingly by fostering collaboration with product designers, engineers, and quality assurance
  • Explore competitors’ products and come up with new ways to improve the company’s products
  • Translate product’s strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development
  • Participate in the development of the product vision, product strategy, and product roadmap processes and permeate that knowledge throughout the product development process and participating team members
  • Ensure that user story content and prioritization is aligned to the larger strategic objective
  • Execute an Agile/Scrum product development methodology, with a mindset of continuous improvement
  • Be the liaison between the product team and the technology and support teams
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope and/or priorities, assess impact to product development process, and devise contingency or mitigation plans
  • Identify, propose and negotiate tradeoffs on scope vs. timeline and customer satisfaction
  • Continually assess product risks and identify ways to mitigate them
  • Make prioritization recommendations based on estimated return and/or benefit to the business

What you’ll need

  • 10+ years of experience in technical role working in computer networking, cloud computing, or data center technologies
  • 3+ years of experience as a member of a software development team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Ability to forge strong working partnerships across a diverse cross-functional team and most importantly with product development teams to help resolve technical issues and challenges
  • Proven track record in meeting business objectives and improvement of business processes
  • Operate within differing SDLC models, including Agile/Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience (10 years)
  • Strong background in computer networking, cloud computing, and enterprise needs in the interconnection space
  • Agile/Scrum (5+ years)
  • Jira (3+ years)

Our Compensation Philosophy

Digital Realty offers its employees a highly competitive compensation package, excellent benefits, and an environment that recognizes and rewards your contributions. Central to our compensation philosophy is rewarding our employees for achieving the values and objectives aligned to the company's overall goals and values.

Our published pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and geographical location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. Moreover, an employee’s total compensation package varies by role and may include salary, cash bonus or commissions, and equity awards not quantified below.

Compensation Range: 101,600 - 152,400 annually.  This compensation range represents the Company’s good faith belief as to what it will pay as a base salary for this position at the time of this posting.
