Position Title:  Sr. Director – Core Network

Location: Remote

Your role

Global Lead on a Fortune 20 Global Telecommunications account. Responsible for growing revenue within the account with a specific focus on establishing customer as a strategic resale partner (executing a formal resale relationship).  Focus on business acquisition from both new logo and existing clients. Develops value propositions and use cases, while leading relationship with key contacts within account. Maximizes Digital Realty’s financial outcome by securing profitable business.

The Sr. Director, Core Network role is a trusted advisor that adds value for our customer by solving their business problems.  This is a tremendous opportunity for a sales professional to work on the cutting-edge of the data center industry selling our global colocation and digital services platform.  You’ll join a team, bringing a consultative selling approach to become a specialist in expertly packaging and tailoring solutions to meet client needs. This role is critical to establishing Digital Realty as the premier business partner within this existing global service provider customer. 

What you’ll do

  • Understanding and evaluating industry, business and network service provider trends to build strategic plans that drive sales
  • Crafting resale partnership strategy and executing against this strategy. This would include building relationships with customer account teams around the country
  • Developing deep relationships within the account while getting to know their businesses, markets, and the challenges they face
  • Selling data center solutions to help the customer connect better and become more efficient
  • Developing winning outcomes for both Digital Realty and the customer
  • Demonstrating value so that the customer chooses our solution
  • Growing Digital’s business while making/keeping the customer happy

What you’ll need

  • Channel Partnership background. Has implemented an indirect sales model in a resale capacity in either network or data center service
  • 10 years of indirect/direct sales experience, preferably in a carrier/wholesale, managed networking, cloud solutions or IT services field. Demonstrable experience in C-Level selling and executive level relationship development with complex Network Solutions customers
  • Excellent knowledge of big data trends (Carrier ecosystem knowledge, Social Media/Content, Cloud Adoption Internet of Things). Strong understanding of the data/IP and mobile communications industry relationships.
  • Demonstrable experience in applying knowledge of Hybrid, Private and Public Cloud architectures to sales solutions, including the implementation and management of these solutions.
  • Evident proficiency in articulating key drivers and use cases for moving workloads from Public to Private Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of wholesale contracts and ability to negotiate complex contracts, amendments and customer renewals.
  • Demonstrate the ability to management pipelines and develop accurate forecasting both monthly and quarterly.
  • Compelling, IaaS, SaaS and Private Cloud Connection product knowledge.
  • Demonstrable success in setting sales strategy for large accounts and managing required outputs from ADPs to drive sales.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with quantifiable attention to detail.
  • Ability to assess client business issues, requirements and budget constraints and prescribe solutions.
  • Comfortable working at the C-Level both with clients and internally.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to articulate, document and present concepts, ideas, figures, action plans, etc.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and present straightforward solutions.
  • Self-motivated, independent resourceful and adaptable.
  • Excellent skills with, analytical tools (Excel or others), and PowerPoint
