Your role

The Vice President of Marketing, EMEA has overall accountability for building and executing a go to market strategy to accelerate Digital Realty’s performance in the EMEA Region.  As a key member of the Global Marketing and EMEA leadership teams, the role is accountable for all activities related to Marketing strategy execution for Digital Realty in this region. They will work closely with the global marketing teams to ensure programs and activities delivered are relevant and useable by the region, feeding in at conception to ensure the requirements of this culturally diverse region are understood and accommodated.  

Key success criteria in this role includes the ability to develop strategic plans in a collaborative and integrated way, respecting and building on global plans and guidelines to synthesize business objectives into strategic Marketing plans which lead to increased brand awareness, stimulating increased demand and opportunities for sales and long-term business success. The incumbent must be able to translate Marketing trends and commercial insights to strong brand awareness and demand generation strategies.  Functional knowledge, operational understanding, strategic thinking, and communication are critical skills for success in this role; the roles’ objectives can only be met through very strong people leadership and relationship management with business and other internal partners, across multiple time-zones and geographies.

  • Degree or equivalent marketing qualification

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong sense of urgency is required
  • Proven ability to effectively lead cross functional, multi-cultural teams in the completion of high-profile projects; ability to multi-task and proactively manage expectations of senior management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with all levels of management and with external constituents
  • Ability to clearly articulate value propositions of Digital Realty products and services, and clearly differentiate Digital Realty offerings from competitor offerings
  • Ability to effectively convey corporate offerings and value propositions in a clear manner through verbal and written means

The Role

  • Lead the design and execution of a coherent go to market strategy to ensure the EMEA region is positioned to achieve its mid-long term market goals
  • Working within the global structure, develop a strong EMEA brand focusing on the company’s unique and compelling competitive advantage in order to build awareness and drive customer recognition, stimulating demand within EMEA based customers and prospects
  • Create an integrated go-to-market offering helping Digital Realty play in both the colocation and scale space
  • Partner with the business to develop and execute against regional marketing strategies, customized to the EMEA market while supporting consistent global positioning and messaging
  • Develop regional social media strategy in compliance with the global marketing strategy
  • Oversee regional campaigns throughout the lifecycle – launch, execution and wrap-up, ROI
  • Define and measure success while using key metrics to measure and track performance; report performance of regional marketing campaigns and events
  • Lead, manage and develop the EMEA regional marketing team, ensuring they understand the company and regional strategy and how their contributions make a difference to overall achievement of corporate goals
  • Matrix manage EMEA country marketing teams to ensure they are fully included in campaign planning and that global/regional campaigns can be made relevant locally
  • Management of the marketing budget, coordinating with Finance business partners as needed
